Founder & Teacher
In-Art Studio Calgary is more than a place to take art classes – it’s a welcoming creative home where adults, teens, and kids come to explore, learn, and grow through art. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or refining your technique, our goal is the same: help you build real skills, real confidence, and a practice you’re proud of.
When an artist moves to a new city and cannot find the studio of her dreams, she creates it herself. That is exactly how In Art Studio in Calgary was born, founded by watercolorist Inna Nagaytseva. Inna wanted to build a space where both complete beginners picking up a brush for the first time and those seeking serious artistic development feel equally comfortable. Her own experience working with light, color, and composition laid the foundation for our studio’s unique teaching methodology.
Inna herself is well-known in the international art community for her watercolors, where the main roles are played by seascapes, the play of light on water, white yacht sails, and majestic mountain lakes. She brought this signature vision of space and color directly into her teaching. There are no boring lectures or pressure here – only an atmosphere where every beginner or experienced author finds support, inspiration, and high-quality knowledge.
Today, our Calgary art studio offers a simple opportunity to take a deep breath after a busy week, pick up professional materials, and create something genuine, unique, and truly joyful.
Painting is a process that should bring pleasure, not feel like an exam. That is why our programs are broken down into clear stages: we break down the fundamentals of composition, learn to distinguish subtle shades, and get comfortable with high-quality materials without pretentious academicism. It does not matter at all whether you have painted before or if this is your very first time in your life. There is no room for criticism or comparison in our studio, so everyone works strictly at their own pace, finding time for relaxation and creativity.
Why people trust us:
Of course, everything started with standard weekly courses, but today our Calgary art studio has grown into a much broader space. Throughout the year, we regularly bring renowned international artists to our studio – a fantastic opportunity to learn from world-class masters right here in the city without any long-distance travel.
When you want something beyond regular sessions, we offer other engaging formats as well. For example, relaxing paint nights where you can come with friends or a glass of your favorite beverage to simply unwind over a creative hobby. We also host intimate celebrations, birthday parties, and warm corporate events for private groups. These lively moments shape the spirit of our studio – which is why it feels so rewarding to return here again and again.
Every instructor at In Art Studio is an active practicing artist who lives through art and is an integral part of the local Calgary art scene. We are convinced that teaching someone to mechanically copy another’s template is a dead end. Real art is born differently: through understanding light, feeling color, and having the courage to make your own choices on canvas.
That is why we find it far more inspiring to watch our students grow more confident from class to class – noticing subtle details they never saw before, experimenting boldly with color, and no longer fearing a blank page.
Our instructors have walked this path themselves and know exactly when to offer hands-on guidance and when to step back to let you find your own solution. That is why learning here remains alive, warm, and genuinely inspiring – delivering results you can truly be proud of.

Our instructors ensure your first session is encouraging and stress-free, proving that mastering the visual arts is completely within your reach.
