Watercolour Paint Night Winter Red Cabin

Celebrate the beauty of winter with our Winter Red Cabin Watercolour Paint Night at IN ART Studio in Calgary.

In this 3-hour class, you’ll create a peaceful winter landscape featuring a bright red cabin surrounded by snowy mountains, atmospheric forests and soft winter light. The contrast between the warm cabin and cool blues of the snow makes this a beautiful seasonal painting – perfect for the week of Christmas.

With step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn how to build a winter landscape while keeping your watercolour fresh, transparent and atmospheric.

What You’ll Learn

• Painting snowy mountains with light and shadow
• Creating soft, atmospheric backgrounds
• Using wet-on-wet techniques for winter skies and forests
• Painting evergreen and bare winter trees
• Creating realistic snow without using white paint everywhere
• Mixing beautiful cool blues and winter neutrals
• Painting the red cabin as a strong focal point
• Creating depth through layers and tonal values
• Using soft and hard edges
• Adding snow, texture and expressive finishing details
• Creating a balanced winter landscape composition

This class is beginner-friendly, and no previous watercolour experience is required. More experienced painters are also welcome to join and explore atmospheric winter landscape techniques.
