There are plenty of video tutorials and self-study guides around, but they lack the main thing – promptly telling you why the paper went into waves or why the colour became muddy. A convenient format and clear guidance completely change how you perceive drawing. Our art instructors focus on practice: they see exactly where a student is stuck and help navigate complex techniques without stress or haste. If you are looking for experienced art instructors in Calgary or selecting painting teachers, in our studio you will work with people who know how to explain complex things in simple words and do not pressure beginners.

All our teachers are active artists; they exhibit and work in studios. And at the same time, they have pedagogical experience, so they will not just show you beautiful works, but will also be able to explain what techniques were used, due to what the result was achieved, and how you can do the same, and how it can be done even further. You can learn more about each teacher from their profiles.
Yes, you can be guided by the artist’s personal style and their experience working with specific materials and styles. This is the simplest and most reliable way to truly learn from an active master, rather than from a theorist. If you have a vision of what you want to achieve or what you want to learn – we will recommend a mentor with the appropriate specialization.
Yes, our teachers always plan classes with beginners so that there is enough time to thoroughly look at everyone’s work in the process and give useful advice. This is not an evaluation format at the end of the class: In small groups, the teacher checks in with each student several times, patiently explains nuances, and helps correct mistakes as the work progresses.
